April began with a picture book launch – always fun – this one for Devon Sillett’s lovely tale of The Leaky Story.

Other than that, it was a fairly quiet month, although I did enjoy a lovely morning with local SCBWI members and a couple of jetsetting visitors at Poppy’s (War Memorial cafe).
Here I am with with Nicole Godwin, Sheryl Gwyther from Queensland, Tania McCartney, Irma Gold, Stephanie Owen Reeder and Maria Gill who was visiting from New Zealand. As Tania said on her facebook post, we talked writing, illustrating, history, research, Venice, SCBWI and books, books, books, and books! An uplifting, hilarious and fun time.
